Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will marry Jeanne Abdullah this Saturday. The simple wedding will be held at Seri Perdana and attended by close family members only.
Excerpts from the prime minister’s press conference:
Q: When did you first meet your future wife?
A: I’ve known her a long time as she is Endon’s (late wife’s) sister- in-law.
Q: Why did it take you so long to announce because before this, you said it was just a rumour?
A: All the dates mentioned were wrong… that’s why I said it was just a rumour. It took some time. I needed to consult my children and had to find the time as I was too busy going here and there.
Q: Do you plan to go on a holiday after your wedding?
A: There’s no plans yet… there’s an official trip abroad… I will be bringing (Jeanne) along… what’s the use of having a companion if you don’t bring her along… that too (the press) want to ask?
Q: Have you ordered the wedding ring?
A: Yes… it’s already late now.
Q: What do you call her? Darling, sayang? (Laughter from the floor).
A: You will all know what I call her after the marriage.
Q: What is Datuk Seri’s hope from the people?
A: I hope they will pray for our happiness because a happier prime minister can do a lot of good work (laughter and applause from the floor).
Q: Will your life be more meaningful?
A: How can it not be meaningful? What kind of question is that? More meaningful…. yes, more meaningful.

Mother’s Day is on 13th May, 2007. It is the day when we pay homage to our mom. On this Mother’s Day try something different to make your mother feel special. On this special day, invite your mum to Cosplay atCity Square in Johor Bahru. See about 40 cosplayers display their special costumes on stage. This show is popular with photographers and the public.
Cosplay in Malaysia differs from the one in Japan. We have incorporated local culture in the show apart from Nana, Nanuto and other Japanese comic characters. The Malaysian version is far more popular than the one in Japan. Cosplay (コスプレ,), a contraction of the English words “costume” and “play”, is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, or Japanese pop music bands.
However, in some circles, “cosplay” has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume. This subculture has now come to Malaysia. This activity is open to all people. There ¡s no age limit or race limit. This is our hobby to show our costumes. In the contest, this is the way we can share and wear our special costumes in Malaysia, note by a cosplayer Xue Ni.
Organizes will be showcase a Cosplay Costume Contest on 10th on June inDangaBay. This costume contest is often a test of skill, design, and audience reaction. The contestants are judged either before hand or on stage and then do the catwalk to the cheers of the audiences. Judging is divided by two categories, craftsmanship and presentation.

Chinese director Wong Kar-wai has proved a revelation in a Hong Kong cinema scene known for its gangster and martial arts flicks, yet his unique style has won him more fans overseas than at home.
But it was his later film “In The Mood For Love,” released in 2000, which earned him wider international plaudits. It was nominated for a Palme d’Or at Cannes and went on to earn some 2.7 million dollars at theUS box office. Despite global recognition, Wong’s films are not box-office hits back home, where the media prefers to dwell on his reputation for being eccentric and laborious, working without a script or sometimes even a plot outline.Still, that has not put off multiple Grammy-award winner Norah Jones, who stars in “My Blueberry Nights,” and Hollywood heavyweight Nicole Kidman, who will appear in “The Lady from Shanghai”.
